It was super amazing to see all the ideas the kids and my husband came up with.

My family got me a few things I am jazzed about, including the book Sew U to help propel me into competent sewing, and Free Range Knitter, a Yarn Harlot book that I'm having a really hard time putting down.

Have you listened to the Librevox book podcaster Brenda Dayne did? Her version of "Age of Innocence" is nearly professional in quality. A listening experience of pure pleasure. Right now I've got an Audible account and have bought a few books. Dickens' "Christmas Carol" and Terry Pratchett's "Making Money" are the last two.

Cheers!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1411045282788792814.post-75651752954205883512009-01-04T01:03:00.000-05:002009-01-04T01:03:00.000-05:00LOVE that you guys used the Cro-Mags for the intro...LOVE that you guys used the Cro-Mags for the intro music.Jesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05242622843614810743noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1411045282788792814.post-28281135961266617212008-12-18T06:27:00.000-05:002008-12-18T06:27:00.000-05:00Hello ladies so sorry to hear that there's no ...Hello ladies so sorry to hear that there's no podcast this week and hope you'll be better soon. Those are your people and you can relate to them. Also, maybe something about being able to create one of a kind prom/homecoming dresses/outfits. Or even a local Project Runway type of competition. That would really get you noticed and create some partnerships with the community. You have to get rid of the stigma and maybe have a motto/slogan that this isn't your mom's home ec. You could also make your presence known by contacting either the high school counseling department or the schools art teachers. The discussion today made me feel good about that decision. :) I'm just not interested in reading about a teenage girl being obsessed with a good vampire boy. I have a hard time getting into vampire stories, too. I love Buffy and Angel, and everything else seems so 2 dimensional in comparison to me.

One book series you two might like, if you haven't tried it before, is the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldan. It's a historical fantasy romance (with more emphasis on the historical and romance, admittedly), and I can't put it down. I'm on the 5th book and love it. The characters are wonderful, the story is wonderful, the writing style is engaging. It's also aimed at adults, the main character at the start of Outlander is, I believe, 26 or 27.Amethysthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09401183487157195533noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1411045282788792814.post-16867128929255735632008-10-10T12:16:00.000-04:002008-10-10T12:16:00.000-04:00Haha sorry!! Yeah yeah, I know everyone's been blogging about it lately, myself included, but did you know that instead of tracing your design, or taping your design to the freezer paper you can cut the freezer paper into 8 1/2 x 11 pieces and run them through your printer? Waxy side down, voila! You can print up simple clip art, or design something yourseld. I have a tutorial of freezer paper stencilling on my blog- www.PanjoKids.blogspot.comPanjo Kidshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12555694965894161932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1411045282788792814.post-27296775686900288442008-09-30T12:10:00.000-04:002008-09-30T12:10:00.000-04:00My tip is for a neat knitted edge. I keep my WIP projects in a basket next to the couch and they tend to get all mixed up. I whipped up some simple drawstring calico bags, embellished them with freezer paper stencils and hey presto - projects are contained in a cute way and I don't spend ages trying to untangle my knitting from other projects before I can start. When you buy new yarn (or beads, or fabric, or whatever), organize it by color family as soon as you get it home. Do not put it in a box or pile to do later. You'll never do it.

You can stash yarn by color in magazine boxes on a shelf if you want it out in the open, or clear shoe boxes under the bed to get it out of the way.

You'll thank yourself later when you are looking for a certain color.idyll handshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10684556953397257782noreply@blogger.com
